I've worked at Principal Financial Group for 26 years. Current job is Sr IT Analyst working as an IT Lead on projects in the Health division.

Don has been a full time farmer for the last 14 years, raising black angus cows, corn and beans. He is the agriculture side of our partnership and I am the culture side....

Matthew is 22 and a 'super' senior at ISU majoring in Genetics. He'll finish his under graduate work this fall and is planning to go to graduate school afterward. I have fear that he might be a career student, although he does work for the USDA in a seed lab. Jacquelyn is a sophomore at ISU majoring in Accounting. She also works at Theisens in Ames. She will not go to school forever because she loves money too much.

I really haven't gone far from Ames. We've lived southwest of Ames about 20 miles and now northwest of Ames about 20 miles. Not much changes. I worked at PFG until the kids were born, then took off time with them, which was a great thing to do. I went back to work in Ames, then transferred to Des Moines in 1995. PFG sent some of us to DMACC to learn programming, and that was apparently my niche (yep, I'm a full fledged geek) because it's been an excellent career path for me. I golf a little, travel a little, talk a lot, still do sewing & crafts, decided to learn to play the piano, try to do some sort of exercise regularly (jog/aerobics/yoga), like to spend money, and feel very fortunate to have my family and friends. It's 30 years later, but it feels like yesterday. The 70s were definitely some kind of fun.
