Job Info:

I started working at ISU in the Internal Audit office in 1991. That position was eliminated by budget cuts and they transferred me to the Food Science Department. That position was also eliminated by budget cuts and I have been with the Iowa Energy Center since 2001. Although this is technically an ISU position, with all the benefits, it is only administered by the University and not their money, so I am now safe from their cuts.

Spouse Info:

I married Craig Charlson (AHS Class of 1977) in 1979 and we are still married. Craig has been a painting contractor in Ames since I knew him in high school (he took over the business from his dad in 1980).

Family Info:

We have one daughter, Wendy,(AHS class of 2000) who is married to Travis Pierce. In May of this year we were blessed with our first grandchild, Savannah. They live only 4 blocks from us.

Bio:

Summer is my season. There is nothing better than a sunny day in the boat (although I have issues with skin cancer). I love my daily walks with my dog. I enter random contests when I get an urge, and win a lot of them. My latest "big" wins were a $630 designer purse and a $400 bicycle. I love being in Ames, which is probably hard for some of you to understand. But, people come back to visit, and Iâ€™m here to see them, often running into old friends by accident, and ending up having a great time!
